A homework log is a running list of every assignment you give each student: what it was, when it is due, whether they submitted, and your feedback. It stops "I thought that was optional" conversations.

What to include

Student name: One log per student or combined sheet.
Assignment date: When you assigned it.
Task description: Specific and measurable.
Due before lesson: Date of next session.
Submitted?: Yes / No / Partial.
Quality score or notes: Quick feedback for next lesson.
Follow-up action: Reteach, extend, or move on.
